"The lower you fall, the higher you'll fly."
"Thudddddd..." Whats that??? That's the sound of the fall. Everyone of us have fallen at some point of time at some point in life. Flip a few pages of your life back and there the list of falling goes on.. The first bicycle ride, the swing in the park, the neighbor's mango tree, the sack race in school athletics, the collage football match, the punch from the school bully... the list can be endless. Oh!!!, if you are too smart not to have fallen physically; then there is no denying you have never FALLEN in Love. :) The point is falling is impertinent to you or me, rich or poor, successful or loser, big shot or a commoner. We all fall; sometime just to stand up and other times to rise up. This is my story of falling followed by standing and then rising up.
The calendar read 01-01-11. The first day of new year. The early winter morning, cool breeze, the sound of the waves crashing against the basaltic rocks, the first rays of sun over the picturesque 'Om' beach. The best place to be in and there was I, along with my friends to celebrate the new year. With spring on my steps I walked down the shore line marveling the beauty of the place. I saw the outline of a ship far away in the Arabian Sea and then I saw the beautiful shells lying on the golden brown sand. Everything was so captivating. We started ascending a small hill to reach the other side and suddenly something was wrong. I sat down on a rock and before I could realize anything, there was this familiar sound... THUDD!!!! The sound of the fall. The sound this time was followed by an eerie silence and pitch black darkness which somehow has engulfed me in its embrace. I got back my senses against howling, shouting and screaming of my friends. "What happened?" questions pierced me from all directions and my brain didn't care to formulate any answer. Few minutes after resting, I was helped on to my feet. This is what we all do when we fall; Standing UP.
The eye lids felt heavy after heavy lunch. The shade of the cottage and the cool breeze of the sea helped our cause. All of us dozed off on the make shift dining table. Silence ruled outside and Chaos ruled inside. My brain started reasoning and figuring out an answer for the earlier "What Happened!!" stuff. My eyes kept checking the rise, fall and dying of the waves. The vastness of the sea made my problems appear very small. I kept striking out the options of my fall. The long introspection finally paid off. The answer came as a flood. The heaviness on my head has lifted. What did I find in my endeavor? Whats the pearl of the wisdom?? Its a realization and the true essence will be lost when put on words. The more you try to put in words for explaining the realization, the more you fail short of words. The entangled cobwebs have been cleared and I could feel the lightness and simplicity ruling my life. With this realization, I stood up and walked near the shore. The sea looked different & so was the red sun setting at the horizon. I heard the calling of my friends from back and ran back to participate in the fun they were having. When the quest for finding the answers is fulfilled, when you know yourself like never before; you tower like the Himalayas and then it's just not standing up but it's called RISING UP....
The thought that you have fallen down is an alarm( wake up call ); but the realization that you have fallen down is a push to go up to the higher level (wake and rise up)
