The Book I was reading: The Lost Symbol

The other day I brought this book "The Lost Symbol" from a local book seller. The fiction is in line after "DaVinci Code", "Digital Fortress", "Deception Point" and "Angels & Demons" from the american author Dan Brown. The thriller is set up in Washington D.C. where a lunatic freak has kidnapped Peter Solomaon, the keeper of old secrets. Peter's friend a renowned Symbologist Robert Langdon along with Peter's sister Katherine Solomon(a noetic scholar) are in search of a lost word which the abductor has asked to be found in lieu of Peter's life. The lost word is a powerful agent for Apotheosis i.e. to give humans god like power. The lost word is hidden somewhere in Washington D.C. inside a huge pyramid. A huge pyramid at the core of Washington D.C. !!! Must b kidding... Washington D.C. is no Egypt :) A map written in ancient languages of symbols, crypts and riddles needs to be deciphered in order to reach to the lost word. Then there is involvement of CIA who considers the event as a matter of national security. Holy Crap...

The history of american architecture, ancient mysticism, world of old symbols & crypts swings one to the dark ancient era of mysticism and then swings him/her back into the bright realm of future with modern warfare technologies and noetic science. Is there any map and even if its there somewhere, can it be deciphered? Lost Word - A legend or reality? Can a mere word has the power to transcend humans to become God? Is the word so powerful that CIA considers it as a matter of national security? Would the rediscovery of ancient mysticism bring the apocalypse - a cataclysmic end of the world (as shown in 2010 movie)? Is there a missing link between religion & science? Is it dark art or modern science? All these questions makes the fast paced thriller worth reading.

Personally I found the concept of Noetic Science very intriguing. Neotic word from the Greek noēsis / noētikos, meaning inner wisdom, is the science to tap the untapped potential of human mind. Our thoughts interact with physical world & can transform the physical world. Hence we use the term: mind over matter. Noetic science was first coined in 1973 when the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) was founded by Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell.

In September 9/11, 2001 as the whole world shared the grief of a single tragedy of WTC collapse, 4 scientists found that the outputs of 37 random event generators across the world suddenly becomes less random. Somehow the oneness of this shared experience, the coalescing of millions of minds had affected the randomizing function of the machines thus organizing their outputs and in bringing order from chaos!!!

"A grain of sand has mass a very small mass, but mass nonetheless. Since the grain of sand has mass it exerts gravity. Again, too small to feel, but there. Meaning... if enough people begin thinking the same thing , then the gravitational force of that thought becomes tangible and exerts actual force. And it can have a measurable effect on the physical world like the organizing outputs of random number generators."

Particles react to our thoughts... which means our thought has the power to change the world. Hence we must be very careful how we think. Destructive thoughts have influence too. Well directed thought is like a learned skill... it requires laser like focus and profound belief. Many cancer patients were able to transform cancer cells to healthy cells just by thinking about them. Medical science has no answer!!!

It is scientifically proven that the power of human thought grows exponentially with the number of minds sharing the same thought. 2 heads better than one :)

Multiple minds working in unison magnify a thought's effect exponentially. That is inherent power of praying in groups, worshiping in masses or singing in unison which manifest the religion. Technology is doing the same by linking us together and providing us a platform to share a thought - Google, Wikipedia, Twitter, Facebook.... all blend to create a web of interconnected minds.

Ever wondered; "The word GOD is not singular but plural !!!!"

Because God is found in the collection of many.... rather than ONE i.e. in collection of interconnected minds. Apotheosis is not the transform of human being to god but in Latin means OUT of MANY; ONE. Many thoughts (or minds) converging to ONE. The gap between religion and science is narrowing. Science which once thought religion as superstition is now itself building the bridge to reach it back.....
