Po, the panda; the dragon warrior asks his goose father "Who am I?" To which there was no answer. He asks the same question to the furious five of Tigress, Monkey, Viper, Crane and Mantis. The question remained unanswered. After being defeated and lying wounded, Po asks the same question to Soothsayer, the fortune teller; and the answer flows... "Your story may not have such a happy beginning, But that doesn't make you who you are !!! It is the rest of the story, who you choose to be. So who are you Panda??" To this Po recollects his childhood, his goose father, his struggle to learn kung fu, his friends the furious five, learning from Master Sifu, his earlier fights and love of his people and answers with vengeance..."I am Po."
Ohh, this post is not a review of the latest animated movie Kung Fu Panda 2, but a build up to what lies ahead. If you have not seen the movie, no worries!! if you have got what's written above, I would say you have done a good job. A high five to that. (But do catch the flick when you get time. It's good :))
So what's the million dollar question... Ohh No, its not what Amitabh Bachhan asked to Harshavardhan Nawathe in KBC when he earned the million dollar :) Lets bring it down to you and me. Can the question be...How much you scored in exam? or how much are you earning? or What car you own? or What party you vote for? What religion you follow? You sure don't agree, right. So do I. Then whats the question... its very simple, so trivial that we ignored it all life long...It's a mere amalgamated three words. Its what the dragon warrior Po asked, "Who am I?"
(If you have thought "I love you", when you read its of three words sentence, take my advice, stop spending time reading my article & go spend time with him or her :) )
Its the choices we make which defines us and let us be who we want to be. The choice of should I wear Jeans or formal; should I make friends with him or her; should I read or hang out with my friends; to should I vote for Congress or BJP in next election. All these choices affect us profoundly. The jeans may look cool on me to let some heads turn but formals would give me a sense of authority. Then its the choice of what I go with defines me... Cool or Authoritativeness. Once we have made the choice we live up to the choice by working towards it. I am no monk who can preach you what choices are good or bad. I am just like you still connecting the dots of the past to bridge my future. But the awareness of the consequences of my choices have given me a sense to look for both sides of coin rather act prejudiced. When faced with a choice, I close my eyes n just listen to my heart and have found I have made the wisest decision. The decision to purchase a Mac when i could have gone for a notebook or to walk out of a failing relationship when I should have continued along...
To sum this up, as said by the Batman, my biggest childhood hero... "Its not who I am underneath, but what I do, that defines me !!" Bruce Wayne, the millionaire could have enjoyed his life but he took the pain to become Batman and to look into the eyes of evil and death. It's this choice what defined him as my hero and inspire many a children. Thanks to Po, the dragon warrior for reminding us the power of choices....
very strong and convincing statement "Once we have made the choice we live up to the choice by working towards it" But wat is more important, A choice or u as an individual or both..? it depends..
