Next Time

"Better luck Next Time..."

We keep postponing things that are important in life be it fun, family, work to some “Next Time”. Ever wondered WHY? Check out your palm. What you see… A long life line. Damn!!!
The answer to the why is because we believe we will be living to have wrinkles on our face to do all those pending jobs. Who the hell is going to die tomorrow!!!! So was the thought of the  unlucky ones who died in yesterday’s earthquake.  Some of them would have also postponed things to “Next Time” like you. Their time was too small for the Next Time…

In all our conversation with friends, family, colleagues we all would have came across the word 'Next Time'. Its just not two words in english dictionary but it essays so much more. As a kid, I put ink on my friend's note-book. The teacher punishes me and with teary eyes I plead, "Sorry teacher, Next Time I won't do it". Off I go the hook and down goes the whole bottle of ink on my pal's shirt :) Dad asks "Why didn't you do well in exams." I answers "Next Time I would do well". I escapes the scolding with that assurance. My friend asks; "lets go vroom on our bikes this weekend, what say dude?" I say, "Man, I have work at office... why not Next Time!!". The bikes lay idle in the garage. I asks her; "Why don't you join me over". She messages me back; Next Time... Sure !!!. You come back losing a game of football and the coach walks down to the changing room... "Folks; You played well and it was just not our day." He sums up his speech... "Better luck Next Time :)". The confidence and morale is back for the team.

Then there is next time for everything; next time for having fun, next time for meeting old school friends, next time for mending a broken relationship... The list goes on and on and on.  We keep postponing things which we could have enjoyed today to some future imaginary next time. If by somehow we reach to that imaginary next time, it gets postponed again by another NEXT TIME :) Next time never ends in our life time.

The biggest irony of next time is that we assume we would be doing the what-so-ever job next time, when we ourself are not so sure for the tomorrow. I am NO pessimist... you can argue what the hell do you think gonna happen to me tonight. The world is not going to end tonight. Nuts, Its still not 2012. :) But then are we so certain... No!!!
Then question is should it have to be always today and no next time. The answer is "The true climber always climbs higher next time." Let you fail today, at-least you have next time to try again and there is no qualm that you never tried since you told yourself Next time. So lets enjoy what we have today and not wait for the Next time...
